Now for something Gnarly! Culpeper’s Fifth Annual 'Gnarly Hops and Barley Fest' Craft Beer Festival celebrates spring April 29, 2017

Culpeper, VA. Culpeper Renaissance Inc. (CRI) is proud to serve up its fifth annual beer festival this April. Over the past several months, the team has been planning the best Gnarly Hops and Barley Fest yet. Ticket holders can look forward to several new breweries on tap and a wide selection of mouth-watering local food. Located again in the historic Downtown Culpeper area, this craft beer festival is sure to live up to its “gnarly” name.

Taking place on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from Noon – 5:00 PM in the Spencer Street Parking Lot, the Gnarly Hops brewfest is back with live music and over 70 different beer selections. Sample Virginia and nationally brewed beers, including area favorites like newcomer – Bald Top Brewing Co., Pale Fire, Blue Mountain, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, and Beer Hound Brewery. A crowd favorite, Bold Rock Hard Cider, also returns serving its refreshing cider in a variety of flavors. A few well-known out-of-towners will be on draft, like Goose Island, Captain Lawrence, The Bruery, and Maine Beer Company. CRI guarantees there will be plenty of craft beer and cider to suit anyone’s taste!

Our committee has been working hard to guarantee we’ll bring you an afternoon in Culpeper you won't want to miss!”

Culpeper, a Great American Main Street Award winner, also boasts delicious local eats that will be on hand to accompany the cold brews. Food provided by Grill 309, Crabdaddy’s, Bavarian Chef, Uncle Elder’s BBQ, Distinguished Engagements, and many more. Live music by local favorites Half Full will kick off the festivities followed by the folk-rock grooves of Chamomile and Whiskey. Local artisans such as Le Monkey House, Christopher Mize Studio, Shenandoah Spice Company, Wire & Rocks, The Sterling Peacock and more will be attending the event as well, presenting their unique, handcrafted goods and jewelry to festivalgoers.

This year we’re excited to offer an enhanced VIP ticket available for $65. A VIP ticket scores you all the regular ticket amenities along with a VIP separate entrance, exclusive premium tastings at the VIP tent, $15 food voucher, unlimited craft beer tastings, and exclusive full pint Gnarly glass. With only a limited number of advanced and VIP tickets available for the Gnarly Hops and Barley Fest, CRI is encouraging those 21-and-older to pick up tickets early to ensure a spot at this popular downtown event. General advance tickets are available for $25 and may be purchased now at Culpeper Cheese Company, Vinosity (both located on Davis Street in downtown Culpeper), Randy’s Flowers by Endless Creations (211 West Evans Street) and on the web at www.gnarlyhops.eventbrite.com. $5 non-drinking tickets will be available for purchase at the gate on the day of the event. VIP tickets are available at the same locations for $65.
