Culpeper Renaissance Inc. launched a renewal plan for downtown Culpeper with a Façade, Sign & Awning Improvement Grant Program
Culpeper Renaissance Inc. (CRI) launched an incentive plan to support and revitalize the historic downtown corridor. The overall appearance of the downtown buildings will weigh heavily into the success of the ongoing effort. Over the past 25 years, Culpeper Renaissance Inc. has assisted in the rejuvenation of downtown. This program will encourage façade improvements ranging from minor repairs to full façade renovations.
The Culpeper Renaissance Inc. Façade, Sign & Awning Improvement Grant Program is designed to assist with the maintenance and rehabilitation needs of buildings within the CRI footprint. The investment is to offer 50/50 matching grants to interested and qualified building and business owners.
Grants may be awarded for up to 50% of the total cost of qualified façade restorations, repairs or rehabilitations. With a maximum grant award of $2,500 for facades, and $500 for signs or awnings. The annual budget for this program is $10,000.
Owners and tenants (with permission from the building owner) of commercial or mixed commercial-residential property located in the CRI footprint may apply for funds. Tenants must have at least a two-year lease at the location in order to qualify for the grant program.
Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. (CRI) is excited to help you through promotions, ribbon cutting events for new businesses, co-op advertising opportunities, listing in the Culpeper downtown shopping & dining guide, listing on the CRI website, etc. Services CRI provides to businesses within the CRI footprint are FREE.
Through our continued partnership with the Virginia Main Street Program, CRI is able to provide free façade renderings through grants made possible by Frazier Associates. If you are interested in changing the look of your building, please contact the CRI office for an application.
