Culpeper Speaker Series: The Battle of Cedar Mountain

September 22 @ 7:00 pm

$5

The Battle of Cedar Mountain, fought August 9, 1862, was the largest and bloodiest battle in Culpeper county. Over 3600 men fell in three hours of fighting. Although frequently overlooked in histories of the Civil War, events here had major impacts on the future of the war.
Admission is $5 and includes admission to the museum.
Historian Michael Block, author of “The Carnage Was Fearful: The Battle of Cedar Mountain,” will share insights about the conflict gained over 20 years of research and experience as a volunteer with the Friends of Cedar Mountain Battlefield and Brandy Station Foundation.
This program will also be live streamed on Facebook Live.
