Hop N’ Hog Returns to Culpeper Downtown for an Afternoon of BBQ, Beer & Bourbon
Culpeper, VA– Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. is excited to invite the community to the Hop N’ Hog Culpeper Block Party & BBQ Competition on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Culpeper Downtown at 111 Commerce Street. This annual celebration brings together BBQ lovers, craft beverage enthusiasts, families, and visitors for an afternoon of delicious food, live music, local vendors, and community fun. Attendees can experience BBQ tastings, the People’s Choice BBQ Competition, craft beer, wine and bourbon, artisan vendors, a Family Fun Zone, a dunk tank, Karen’s Line Dancing, and live entertainment throughout the event.
Guests can choose from three ticket options to enjoy the festivities. The $20 Backyard Pass includes general admission and live music, with food, beer, bourbon, wine, and cider available for purchase. The $60 Pitmaster Pass includes BBQ tastings, People’s Choice voting, beer, wine and cider tastings, and a souvenir tasting glass. For those looking for an enhanced experience, the $80 Bourbon Boss Pass includes everything in the Pitmaster Pass, plus bourbon tastings. Admission is free for children ages 16 and under.
The Hop N’ Hog experience will feature a variety of BBQ competitors, including 2B-Q, The BBQ Lab, Divine Swine, Doveshack’s Smoked BBQ, Shawn’s Craft Barbecue, and Uncle Elder’s BBQ. Guests can enjoy live music from Smiling Politely from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by Goodtime Alibi from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The event will also feature a fantastic selection of breweries and cideries, including Angry Wife Brewhouse, Belmont Farm, Cider Lab, Death Ridge Brewery, Far Gohn Brewing Company, Iron Pipe Alehouse, Tap 29, Old Bust Head Brew Co., and Wild Hare Hard Cider and the Virginia Eagle Tap Truck. Bourbon enthusiasts can enjoy offerings from A. Smith Bowman, Belmont Farm Distillery, and Copper Fox Distillery, along with CRI’s Bourbon Tent. This diverse selection of craft beverages provides attendees with plenty of opportunities to discover and enjoy local and regional flavors throughout the afternoon.
In addition to the BBQ and beverage offerings, attendees can shop with artisan vendors and enjoy food from a variety of local businesses, including Anderson’s Handcrafted Soft Pretzels, Country Kettle, The Sippin’ Shack, Snackies, TJJ Island, and The Humble Potato. Artisan vendors include Azalea Field Flowers, Bad Ass Pickles, Cedar Hill Woodworking, Chilling on the Farm, EstRaeya Designs, Maidstone Meadery, Pipe Dreams, Robert’s Hot Sauce, and Slow Burn Cigar Co.
