Play Description

Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest is a sharp and witty comedy of manners that satirizes the social norms and hypocrisies of Victorian England. The play centers around two bachelors, Jack and Algernon, who each lead double lives in order to escape their societal obligations and pursue romance. Through a series of misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and clever wordplay, Wilde explores themes of love, identity, and the absurdities of social conventions. The play is a delightful farce filled with sharp dialogue, memorable characters, and biting humor, making it a timeless classic in the world of theatre.
