Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. (CRI) will begin accepting applications on July 2, 2025, for the Culpeper Hometown Heroes Banner Program with the new banners to be proudly displayed Spring 2026.
This program is a heartfelt initiative to honor and celebrate the brave men and women of our community who have served in the Armed Forces. It serves as a living tribute, recognizing their dedication, sacrifice, and service to our nation. CRI is proud to honor veterans, living and deceased, honorably discharged and active-duty members of the Armed Forces with banners to be displayed during Memorial Day, 4th of July and Veteran’s Day in Culpeper downtown. Each banner will feature photo(s), name, branch of service, and era of service. The program is funded through CRI’s fundraising efforts and donations from the Culpeper community.
CRI Board President, Jennifer Hoehna states “I am excited about the display of our community members where we can honor them for their commitment and sacrifice, they have made for our country. I look forward to the new printing of banners placed in downtown starting Spring 2026 just in time for Memorial Day.”
CRI is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization charged with supporting the growth and revitalization of Culpeper’s historic commercial district, the downtown. Culpeper is a Designated Virginia Main Street Community and CRI is the organization designated by the state and the Town of Culpeper to carry out the Main Street activities.
CRI is accepting donations for the Culpeper Hometown Heroes Banner Program. Donations can be made on the CRI website, check or credit card. Checks should be made out to CRI and mailed to the CRI office located at 127 West Davis Street, Culpeper, VA 22701. Donations made by credit card may be called in to the CRI office at 540-825-4416.

CRI would like to thank the CRI Design Committee, volunteers, and those who made donations that made this program possible. We would also like to thank the Town of Culpeper Public Works Department for their partnership in the placement of these banners in our beautiful downtown district.”
Applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis for completed applications with all required supporting documentation. Applications that are not complete and/or do not have all the supporting requested documentation will not be accepted. The deadline for submitting applications is August 1, 2025.
