For Brian Lam, owner of Collage Spa, the journey into skincare, massage, and wellness was a personal one. After spending time working in the fashion industry, Brian found himself drawn toward healing and wellness, eventually making the transition into a career centered around helping others feel their best. That journey led him to creating Collage Spa, a space where skincare, massage, relaxation, and community come together.
When you walk through the doors of Collage Spa, Brian wants you to feel at home. He hopes guests are greeted with a friendly smile, feel comfortable, and are able to relax from the moment they arrive. But Collage Spa is about more than traditional spa services. Brian envisions it as a local spa that also serves as a community meeting spot. A place where people can come together while taking a little time for themselves.
For Brian, self-care isn’t something that should be considered a luxury or an afterthought. It’s something everyone deserves.
“Everyone gives so much to the world every day, and we are here for you—to hold space for you to relax and de-stress,” Brian shared.
That idea of creating space for people is at the heart of what makes Collage Spa special. Whether you’re taking time to slow down, treating yourself to a little self-care, or simply looking for a moment away from the everyday, Brian wants Collage Spa to be a place where you can breathe, reset, and feel cared for.
Brian’s connection to Culpeper Downtown began long before Collage Spa opened its doors here. Originally from Fredericksburg, he would often visit Culpeper and quickly fell in love with the quality and creativity of the small businesses throughout downtown. Eventually, having a location in Culpeper became a dream, and now, Brian is excited to be part of the community he had admired for years. What he loves most is the individuality of the businesses around him. Brian makes an effort to shop and visit the many stores throughout downtown because he believes supporting one another is an important part of being a local business owner.
“Every store is like a story or book to read,” he said. “So it’s great to see everyone’s creative vision come to life.”
That appreciation for local businesses is something Brian carries with him as a member of the downtown community. Each business brings its own personality, creativity, and story to Culpeper, creating a downtown that feels uniquely its own. And if you’re wondering what keeps Brian fueled throughout his busy days, you won’t find a cup of coffee in his hand. His go-to drink is a matcha latte, because, as he puts it, “I don’t drink coffee.”
From his personal journey into wellness to his passion for creating a welcoming space for others, Brian has brought more than a spa to Culpeper Downtown. He has brought a place centered around connection, self-care, and community.
Next time you’re downtown, stop by Collage Spa, located at 254 E. Davis Street, and discover a space where you can slow down, recharge, and take a little time for yourself.
