Meet Lenna Storm, the owner of Persimmon Marketplace, where you’ll find unique local art, thoughtful products, and plenty of unexpected treasures. Lenna loves being part of Culpeper Downtown and creating a space where people can explore, discover new things, and find something a little different.

Lenna wanted to be part of Culpeper’s vibrant downtown community while expanding her ability to offer products that are meaningful to her. Today, Persimmon Marketplace is filled with unique art from local artisans, thoughtful products for the home and body, and plenty of cool finds you might not come across anywhere else.

When people walk through the door, Lenna hopes they feel a sense of wonder and excitement. She wants visitors to feel inspired to try something new, explore the shelves, and maybe even discover a new favorite.

Believe it or not, becoming a business owner is Lenna’s ninth career! Before opening Persimmon Marketplace, she worked as a process reengineer, cook, website developer, quality assurance manager, consultant, director of sustainability at a large state school, homesteader, and metalsmith and jeweler. That’s quite a journey! Her varied experiences reflect a willingness to try new things, explore different interests, and follow where life takes her.

For Lenna, one of the best parts of being downtown is the people. She loves the connections she’s made with other business owners, the sense of optimism throughout the community, and having so many great places to shop and eat all in one area.

When she’s not at Persimmon Marketplace, you might find her grabbing a bite at Pinto Thai or stopping into Raven’s Nest, Green Roost, Vintage Vibes of Virginia, or Botanical Dwellings. And when asked to name her favorite downtown spots, Lenna had a hard time choosing just a few. As she put it, “Honestly, every store on Davis is awesome.”

It’s that sense of community and appreciation for the people around her that makes Lenna such a great part of downtown. Whether you’re a regular visitor or just discovering Culpeper for the first time, there’s always something new to find.
